Friday: "Dave?" Dave's not here,man."

Tommy Chong is "The Man" tonight at 7:30pm, on ShowTime in "a/k/a Tommy Chong". We get to see just what it's like to be the biggest 'pothead stoner dude' in America & just why the government decided he needed to be in prison because of it. Cheech joins in as they walk down memory (or lack of memory) lane. This is much more interesting than Barbara Walters talking to the he-she. That just makes me want to jump!!!......

Pregnant-Man

Or...

 Arts Images Pics Chong1
The choice is yours.

Did you guys watch "ER" last night? Holy crap! That was just plain scary! They sent us back in time to when Dr. Greene was still breathing and he looked really good. They even made the ER look like it did back in his day. Then they did something a little bizarre. They brought back some of the original cast to make the effect look authentic. They forgot one thing. Those people got OLD!!!

Dr. Weaver steps in to remind Dr. Greene about his chemo treatment & I thought she was Priscilla Presley at first. Her face was so tight, she could barely speak. Then Jerry, the desk clerk, came through Trauma #1 with blood results & I was so happy to see that he's gained as much weight as I have these past five years. He looked older than Frank!! The icing on the cake was the appearance of Dr. Romano!!! He was truly back from the dead & LOOKED it!!! He played his pricky old self, but his true sass was gone. That copter crash must have knocked it out of him. All in all, I loved seeing my old favorites one more time, but it seemed more like "The Twilight's Zone" than a flashback. Nice try NBC.

"Sanctuary" on SciFi has been picked up for another season in 2009, with 13 new episodes. This show is so awesome in the way it uses "green-screen' technology to bring the show to life. I think this will be the way of scifi shows in the future, much like "300". Definitely a "Check It Out!" show.

The rumors are flying that NBC has axed "Lipstick Jungle" (Friday at 10pm) and "My Own Worst Enemy" (Monday at 10pm). They just haven't officially announced it. Like I said, they like to let their mistakes just fade away & hope we don't notice. I'm not surprised about "Lipstick". When they sent it to Friday's death row, I knew it was a goner, but I'm a little surprised about "Enemy". I liked this one. It was exciting and different. I have to admit though, that the last episode had me kind of confused. It was getting complicated, and I had to keep asking: "Is that Edward or is that Henry". Oh well, we still have "Heroes".

Let's check out tonight's list of shows:

ABC:

CA-MTO - "Tea" Wildfire

Brush fire breaks out in hills above Montecito

The blaze forces evacuations and damages some structures in the wealthy Santa Barbara County community, authorities say.
By Catherine Saillant
8:33 PM PST, November 13, 2008
Reporting from Montecito -- A fast-moving brush fire driven by 60- to 70-mph winds erupted in the hills above Montecito in Santa Barbara County, forcing evacuations of some large luxury homes and destroying some structures, authorities said.

The fire broke out about 6 p.m. in the Cold Springs area of Montecito, an area that is home to film stars and other wealthy residents. The fire was moving southwest, according to Geri Ventura, a spokesman for the Department.

Fire departments from Santa Barbara County, the city of Santa Barbara, Montecito and Carpinteria were battling the blaze, along with the California Department of Forestry and other agencies. About 100 firefighters were deployed, Ventura said. State Highway 192 was closed between Cold Springs Road and Hot Springs Road.

Ventura said she did not know how many homes had been lost. An evacuation center has been set up at San Marcos High School, and students at nearby Westmont College were told to gather in the campus gym.

In the hills of Montecito, residents of the darkened streets lit only by the glow from the burning brush could be seen packing up cars and talking with each other. Horse trailers and Porsches snaked their way down narrow, winding mountain roads. The scent of burning eucalyptus filled the air.

From Fox News:

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — A brush fire broke out in the hills above the tony enclave of Montecito on Thursday, forcing some evacuations as gusting winds threatened to spread the blaze further.

The fire began shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday in the foothills five miles south of Santa Barbara, and several fire departments responded to the scene. It was not clear if anyone was injured or any structures were destroyed.

Geri Ventura, a spokesman for the Department, said she did not know how much land had burned, but television images showed the fire had expanded to dozens of acres.

Gusts were being clocked as high as 70 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

KEYT-TV reported that power lines were down and many residents were evacuating. An emergency shelter was set up at a local high school and students at Westmont College were told to gather in the school's gym.

Montecito has long been a hideaway for the rich and famous where multimillion homes have ocean views. Talk show host Oprah Winfrey owns a 42-acre estate and the landmark Montecito Inn was built in the 1920s by Charlie Chaplin and Fatty Arbuckle.

K-State, TCU officials deny Patterson rumors

Kansas State athletic director Bob Krause said that his school has not hired TCU's as its new football coach.

"We're in the early stages and we've talked to no candidates at this point," Krause said in a phone interview.

A TCU spokesman said there was "no truth" to the information.

"Patterson has not talked to anybody," he said.

A Rivals.com affiliate published a report today saying not only that Patterson had been hired but even detailed provisions in the contract.

Krause flat out denied the report.

"This is a published report by a private group that really claimed they had verified it from several sources," Krause said. "They never called me, and they should have."

Krause said he's fielded about 15 phone calls regarding the matter and his e-mail box is exploding. The TCU spokesman said his phone was "blowing up."

"It's an embarrassment, and while I'm sure we have no part in it, I'm sure it reflects back to the university," Krause said. "But it is what it is, and we'll try to maintain our sense of humor."

What's On Tonight: Obama Show, Game 5.5

Not since Ross Perot has a presidential candidate purchased a full half hour of prime time TV to present his case. I expect the "Barack Obama Political Message" (CBS, NBC, Fox, Univision, 8 p.m.) to go a little beyond the desk and charts (and voodoo pointer) of Perot's spots, but not quite soar to the variety show heights parodied on "Saturday Night Live" (where the stand-ins for the candidate and his wife sang a variation on an Ashford and Simpson song, "Solid as Barack").

Political theater is political theater, though, and those not undecided will be nonetheless be informed, if only to fully appreciate the jokes in the ensuing parodies.

It will bump "The New Adventures of Old Christine" (CBS, 8:30 p.m.) and leave the evening without its "Gary Unmarried." (And already,Obama makes the U.S. a better place).
It will also delay a version of "Deal or No Deal" (NBC, 8:30 p.m.) which after the political speech, may play like a metaphor for the Wall Street bailout.

And it would have delayed by 15 minutes the start of Game 6 of the World Series (Fox, 8:30 p.m.), a touch thing especially since Pennsylvania and Florida are still battleground states.

Except that the Phillies and Rays are still waiting to finish Monday's rain-suspended Game 5 that couldn't be played Tuesday either because of the weather.

So when it resumes, it will be tied 2-2 in the middle of the sixth inning in a game that could both win the Phillies (ahead 3-1) the Series for the first time in 28 years and be over in time for the 10 o'clock news.

Speaking of politics, John McCain is scheduled guest on "Larry King Live" (CNN, 9 p.m.); Obama is to appear on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" (Comedy Central, 11 p.m.) via satellite from Florida.

Also, there's a "Biography" (Bio, 9 p.m.) of John McCain, followed by one for Obama at 10. But who do they profile at 8 p.m.? Saddam Hussein.

ABC couldn't come to terms with Obama to air his political spot, so instead of pushing Barack, they'll be "Pushing Daisies" (ABC, 8 p.m.).

Enough about presidents, who will be "America's Next Top Model" (The CW, 8 p.m.)? They all go abroad tonight, to Amsterdam.

Obama's daughter asked specifically if her dad's media buy would affcect her programming on Disney and Nick. It won't: She can still watch "Twitches" (Disney, 8 p.m.) or "SpongeBob SquarePants" (Nick, 8 p.m.).

Lauren Cerre takes a Greyhound bus 4,000 miles across the country to find the concern of young Americans on the eve of the election on this week's edition of "Vanguard" (Current, 10 p.m.).

Nothing to do with the McCains: "Britain's Youngest Grannies" (BBC America, 9 p.m.).

Remote Patrol

The new occasional series "Shaken Not Stirred" (My Network, 9 p.m.) bills itself as a "celebrity toast," which distinguishes itself from a roast and appears to be more of a relaxed talk show. It is advertised as having "Vegas-style flair," which means its participants wear suits and occasional odd hats.

The Rev. Al Sharpton is the man of honor on tonight's premiere; those toasting him include Anthony Anderson, Paul Rodriguez, John Salley, and CNN's newest host, D.L. Hughley. Future guests include Pam Anderson, Bobby Brown, the Rev. Run and Ice-T.

Filmmaker Rick Sebak ("A Hot Dog Story," "A Cemetery Special") brings his light touch to revisiting "The Lincoln Highway" (CPTV, 8 p.m.). The ancient cross-country highway, originally configured in 1913, still exists here and there, though it's tough from the special to find out exactly where. Since he's based in Pittsburgh, a lot of the story occurs there; he jumps around all over the country regardless of chronological or geographic order. There are way too many off ramps for the story through, to follow side stories like an Italian in New Jersey who runs a Mexican restaurant.

Later, "Great Performances" (CPTV, 9 p.m.) presents Carnegie Hall's opening night 2008, in which the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas perform an all-Leonard Bernstein program that also features Yo-Yo Ma, Dawn Upshaw and Thomas Hampson.

In the new "Redemption Song" (Fuse, 11 p.m.), 11 troubled women try to break their old habits by advancing their music careers. They must sing (and please the omnipresent Ron Fair of Epic Records, looking silly in a big-brimmed hat) and they must live together in a house. Former WWE star (and recording artist) Chris Jericho hosts this "Bad Girls" meets "American Idol." And no, they probably never will sing the Bob Marley song that provides the title.

"Top Design" (Bravo, 10 p.m.) begins the first half of a two part season finale.

A new season of "UFO Hunter" (History, 10 p.m.) begins in a Chicago suburb of Tinley Park, where film was taken of an object, reported by 50 people, that could have been as large as 1,500 feet across.

It follows another scare story from the land of Lincoln, an episode of MonsterQuest" (History, 9 p.m.) called "Jaws in Illinois," about an ocean predator in the Mississippi river.

The final batch in the Wednesday series on Turner Classic Movies all month saluting the 80th anniversary of RKO Studios plays all day, including, in prime time, "Murder My Sweet" (8 p.m.), "Sister Kenny" (9:45 p.m.), "Out of the Past" (11:45 p.m.) and "They Live by Night" (1:30 a.m.).

Tarnished Olymian Marion Jones gives her first interview since her release from prison on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" (WFSB, Channel 3, 4 p.m.).

Cronin Seeks Dem Carpetbagger to carry GOP banner in 2010

What's with the DuPage Republicans? The Daily Herald's Animal Farm is reporting that Republican State Senator and DuPage County Republican Party Chairman Dan Cronin is talking with former Chicago schools chief Paul Vallas about running for governor, or for Cook County board president - as a GOPer!

So, a Democrat who's possibly up for appointment in an Obama administration, and who has been out of the state for 10 years (can you say "carpetbagger"...or perhaps "Keyes") is the GOP's hope in 2010? Of course, Cronin's recruiting Vallas for Cook County board president makes sense, since the animosity between Cronin and Peraica is well known. After all, we wouldn't want victory to get in the way of a good feud.

It's also rumored that State Sen. Kirk Dillard (of pro fame) intends to run for AG should Lisa Madigan decide to take a run at Blago's job in 2010.

And this hits just keep on coming!
