Friday: "Whale Wars"

"Whale Wars" is NOT a spin-off of "The Biggest Loser". It's a new series from Animal Planet premiering tonight at 9pm. I'll fill you in after the jump.....

Whale Wars: Hosted by Sammi from Days of Our Lives

"Whale Wars" is one show I've been psyched to see. The previews have me all worked up & now it's finally here. It's a 7-part series following the crew of the "Steve Irwin" (how nice is that!) as they cruise the Antarctic seas in pursuit of the Japanese whaling boats that dominate the region, illegally slaughtering whales. What are whales hunted for? Do people eat them? Is their blubber still used for fuel? Can "Project Runway" use their hide in a challenge? This show should answer my questions.

"Survivorman" has it season premiere tonight on the Discovery Channel at 9pm. We'll get to see that dude bite the heads off lizards & drink from cactuses, or cacti as they say, in the Sierra Desert, Nevada. I bet he finds a "Starbucks".

USA is airing the season premiere of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" at 9pm. I really am a fan of this show. I lost interest when they brought Mr. Big, Chris Noth, on board. The show was fine with Vincent D'Onofrio & Kathryn Erbe as the cops. Well, Mr. Big is gone and now we will be blessed with Jeff Goldblum. (although, not till next week) I really like Jeff & I'm hoping he doesn't suck on this show. He needs a steady job.

Cartoon Network is creating quite a stir with it's Friday night cartoon block. "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" at 9pm is a ratings hit. Tonight it runs Pt#1 of a two-part storyline. "Ben 10: Alien Force" at 9:30 is also new, followed by "Secret Saturdays" at 10pm. Next week (Nov. 14th), is the premiere of "The Bold & the Brave" rounding out their power block. Their are alot of cartoon buffs out there and this is a great alternative to the leftovers they serve us on Friday nights.
